Willingly Ignorant

Climate change is coming. Examine all the models, and you will find that humans are contributing to the rapid approach of the end. Unfortunately, there is no way to stop the Earth from melting from the intense heat. God said it will happen because of His judgment, not because we have too many cows breathing carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. 2 Peter 3:10-13

Many of the most educated men in our world know everything about the tiniest atom and the most obscure weather patterns. They have studied every culture from every era of history, and they can trace rocks back for “millions” of years, but they are willingly ignorant of what God says in His Word. Though all archaeological finds have attested to a worldwide flood, and over 2000 specific prophecies have already come to pass from the pages of Scripture, men still scoff and spin their lies that God will not judge mankind for sin.

Ignorance of the force of gravity does not stop men from falling to their deaths, nor will ignorance of God’s law protect anyone from His judgment. What men do not know of God’s Word will affect them for eternity. Don’t become a victim of your own ignorance. Read God’s Word for yourself and prepare for His coming. He has warned, and He will follow through just as He has promised. Though He will judge every man according to his works, He still offers His mercy to all who will bow before Him in repentance now.

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9

He is waiting for you. He loves you. He wants to spare you from the coming judgment. If you have not yet made sure you will spend eternity in Heaven, now is the time to decide. You can find out more here: The Gospel Film.

Finally, here is our last study from 2 Peter. I hope you have been blessed by these study guides. They have been a tremendous help to me. The Bible is as relevant today as it was the day it was written. I am so thankful for the Lord’s mercy that gives us a warning for what is to come.
