A Christmas Song in the Night

The lights and the tinsel

Sparkle like gold

Singing a love song,

With a story long told.

When God became man,

With humanity dwelt.

Who walked here with us,

Jesus, Immanuel.

Imagine with me

No gifts wrapped with love,

No lights on the trees,

No hope from above.

Where would we be,

If He had not come?

God’s Word empty tidings,

No joy for a song.

The grave still victorious,

And sin not abating,

No bridge to a Father,

No promises awaiting.

But good news has come,

In the form of a babe.

Who planned by a cross,

The world He would save.

His prophecies true,

Not one cast aside,

He conquered death’s sorrow,

Darkness fled from His light.

So carolers rejoice,

And trees twinkle bright!

Hope came in a manger,

A Christmas Song in the Night.
