Do You Believe in Easter?
Grief grips our hearts and draws us to wonder why there is so much suffering in this life. If God exists, many ask, why does He allow so much sorrow on this planet?

The very fact that we believe there should be a better place with no suffering is the eternity God has written on every human heart.

This God not only created a perfect place for man to live, but He suffered greatly on this planet to make a way for man to get there. The term, man, refers to mankind, meaning every man, woman, boy, or girl who will receive the gift He offers.

For those who may be unfamiliar with the holiday that Christians celebrate called Easter, it is the day set aside to remember the suffering of Jesus on a cross, and then three days later rising from the dead. Not only is the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus recorded outside of the Bible, historically, but His body was never recovered to silence the controversy of such a claim. The whole story is recorded in each Gospel in the New Testament portion of the Bible. You can find the accounts in Matthew 27-28, Mark 15-16, Luke 23-24, and John 19-20, and I encourage each person to read these for themselves. These are accurate accounts made by eyewitnesses and passed down from generation to generation with careful copying.
Because Jesus died on the cross to pay for the sin of mankind, and because death could not hold Him in the tomb, He now extends the gift of salvation to all who will believe that He did this for them personally.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
–Jesus (John 3:16-17)
Thirty-one years ago in June, I heard this invitation extended to me personally. I heard that I was a sinner, separated from a perfect holy God. I heard that there was a penalty for this sin.
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 6:23
Sin, those things that I had done that did not please this perfect, holy God, kept me from having a relationship with Him. Immediately, I thought of things that I had stolen as a child, lies that I had told my mother and my friends, the hateful ways I had treated my siblings. Though I was only a child, and though I had never murdered anyone or robbed a bank, I knew what I had done had already condemned me to death.
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
Revelation 21:8
But God…
He called me to believe that Jesus had died for me. Even if I had been the only person on earth, He would have died just for me. He called me to come to Him, to repent of my sin, and to accept the gift of eternal life that He offered me just for the asking.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Romans 10:8-10, 13
That Sunday afternoon on my bed in my room, I called out to Jesus, asked Him to forgive my sin and received the gift He offered. His Spirit moved into my life that day, and I rest in the fact that His promise of eternal life is now mine. I believe in Easter! Do you?

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Matthew 28:16
I would love to discuss this more, if you have any questions! Please message me, if so!
Have a blessed Easter!
