He chose Judas
And called him, Friend.
Though He knew from the start
How this friendship would end.
Jesus offered hope
Until the dying breath.
His ears stayed attuned
For the heart that would repent.
But He will not control
He lets each one choose,
Whether to give their life to Him,
Or whether to refuse.
No matter the wrong,
Or the damage done,
Your Savior is still pleading
For you to come back Home.

Beautiful poem…It always amazes me that Jesus loved Judas even when He knew of the betrayal, and He was willing to give him another chance. What love, grace, and mercy!

Jesus never withholds forgiveness from anyone, but offers it as a gift to anyone who will receive it. He amazes me daily with that forgiveness. You put it perfectly—What love, grace, and mercy!

Well done, Erica. I pray that such truths would find their way into the hearts of loved ones who’ve never “come back home”–yet!
