A Song of Acceptance

Thy way is in the sea,
and thy path in the great waters,
and thy footsteps are not known.

Psalm 77:19

A Song of Acceptance

He broke my chains and heard my call,

Jesus, the One, who died for all.

But now my way is crushed by fear.

The way is dark, no light draws near.

All His billows rush o’er my soul,

Strain as I might, I gain no control.

The more I grasp, the less I gain,

The lashing winds just drive more rain.

This God who formed these crushing waves

Treads hushed without a print to make.

But at His voice, the storm must heed,

And in the breaking, I learn my need.

He alone has full control,

Of all my world, beyond my soul.

And though I would arrest my way,

He works His purpose through every wave.

In Acceptance lieth peace,

I will trust His plan for me.

  1. God created everything with opposites-consequently choices. He created something out of nothing :. Light opposite dark; day opposite night;
    good –evil; love–hate;
    wisdom — folly. We make a choice every instant of everyday. God gave wisdom to Solomon making him the wisest man on earth but he couldn’t make sense of life — only that it was vanity and vexation of spirit. His conclusion:. Love God and do good. Joseph was mistreated in his life, but God had given him a vision and he believed God, enduring the physical troubles and lies about him and waited on God’s timing doing good everyday. Job lived with extremely depressing physical and mental troubles but he knew God was in charge and had a purpose even though he couldn’t see it. His ‘friends’ we’re not really friends, but Job waited and found God was still there. He didn’t give up and God restored him. I’m close to tears many moments, but I choose to think of Jesus and the trouble He took in my place and I can continue where God has me and I remember the most important thing is to love God first and then love others and do good — whatsoever it is to the glory of the Lord. God doesn’t promise me a perfect life here and now. But He does promise me a perfect future in heaven. It’s not instant gratification, it’s a much better promise.
