The face behind the account!
I am Erica, and I am so thankful for every person who would take the time to follow and read my posts. There have been quite a few new followers, so it was time for a re-introduction!
If you have not discovered by now, I absolutely adore my Savior and His Word, and I write about what I love. My gracious, hard-working husband and I are nearing the empty nest stage. We have an adult-diagnosed special needs daughter and one high-school-aged daughter still at home, as well as two other adult children living a few hours away. And we have furbabies! One doodle, a German shepherd, and a “granddog” live here.
The Lord has been so gracious to allow me to mostly work at home throughout my children’s lives, sometimes doing childcare, homeschooling, and writing. A couple of years ago, He allowed me to return to school for my Biblical counseling degree because my love for volunteering as an advocate at a pregnancy center demanded more understanding.
I have been involved in both sides of ministry, first as a missionary wife to Brazil for several years and now as a supportive lay member.
I love to sing, and the Lord is graciously growing my public speaking skills by allowing me to teach Latin in a local classical school. I am hopeful to expand my teaching opportunities as the Lord allows. I also love writing poetry and Bible studies. You will find both things here and a little more on my social media accounts under the same name.
Personally, I have grown up around mental illness and grappled with anxiety and depression while trying to serve Jesus myself. It has given me much compassion for those who have similar struggles. I believe, eventually, everyone will battle these things because we are human beings living in a sinful and often painful world. My goal is to point people to My Song In the Night—Jesus, for He is eternal, sinless, faithful, gracious, merciful, and kind. ❤️
I would love to pray for you, and if you have any comments, suggestions, or questions, please do not hesitate to dm!
The verse that inspired this blog is Psalms 42:7-8.
Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts:
all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.
Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime,
and in the night his song shall be with me,
and my prayer unto the God of my life.
And again, thank you so much for your support and encouragement in taking the time to read. I pray the Lord will use the little I can do for His glory!
