Overcomers

As I read Ephesians 1-2, I just wondered in amazement at all God has offered those who put their trust in Him. How gifts are excessively abundant and readily available, but absolutely useless if you do not know about them and believe that they are yours. Struggling with the lies of the enemy? You, dear one,

Have been lied to,

By that sly deceiver’s tongue.

He has told you that you are worthless,

You will never overcome.

He has held you down with hopelessness.

He has made you feel the dark.

He knows there are promises

That will give you a fresh start.

The blood of Jesus offers the fullness of God’s love,

A choice seat at His table,

Abundant blessings from above.

No good things does He withhold

From a child of the King,

So look up, every hurting heart,

Lift up your praise and sing.

All of heaven now rejoices

At the beauty of your worth,

Every drop of precious blood,

Provided your new birth.

So seek out all the precious truth,

Engraved within God’s Word.

Unlatch those chains, they have no lock,

Believe, then overcome.
