The Song of His Word

The day that you met Me,

Your love overflowed.

Your heart was so thankful,

Your joyful face glowed.

There was nothing I asked

You weren’t willing to do;

My Word spoke It’s Truth

Your love hastened to pursue.

But now your heart’s door

Stands coldly fast closed.

Though I stand outside knocking,

Your companionship, you withhold.

You need no instruction,

Your needs are all met.

Your life is too busy

To take time to sit.

But My patience stays waiting,

I will not give up yet.

There is feasting to share

My table’s all set.

I offer gold tried

In the fire of My love;

And My raiment to cover

From My vast treasure trove.

So come to My table,

Find a feast in My Word.

Reignite the cold ashes

Of love, be restirred.

In repentance discover

The sweet aroma of peace,

The savor of grace,

In my Presence complete.
